In "Golf Vision", we shall dissect the golf swing into its fundamental elements. Before we even begin to discuss any part of the golf swing at all, it is critical to understand that the golf swing does have separate elements, or separate physical movements that make up the whole. These elements are identical to the links of a chain.

If you were to go to a blacksmith to have a chain made, you would recognize he would have to start with the first link. Same thing in golf. One thing you would notice about your smitty is that he never gets in a hurry. He has to have the patience of Job to fashion your chain, one link at a time, of exactly the same size, same temper and same strength. You would gain a new appreciation for something as simple as a chain after watching your smitty work with patience and knowledge to create your chain. He would not want any link stronger than any other as that would weaken the whole.. Nor would he want a weaker link as it also would weaken the whole. The same attributes have to be applied to building your golf chain... Knowledge, patience, one link at a time with all links of equal strength. You have to mentally understand what each link is, what it looks like, what it feels like, what the purpose of each link is and how each link is part of the whole and that one weak link destroys the chain.

You have to be able to lean back in your easy chair, close your eyes and mentally and verbally describe the link you are working on.... what it looks like, what it feels like, why it has to be there, what muscles are activated and used in that link of the chain and how to make sure those muscles are activated, what muscles are de-activated, why they have to be de-activated and how to make sure they are de-activated.......... Of course, you have to have golf vision.. Then the work begins..
